Performance Update
Dear friends,
I wanted to let you know that I will no longer be performing at the Center Stage showcase at the Orange Blossom Opry on August 14th.
When I accepted the invitation, it was with the clear understanding that I would be bringing my own show—my style, my arrangements, and my well-curated blend of vintage jazz, blues, and torch songs. Somewhere along the way, that agreement hit a sour note.
Now, with only one week before the show, I was told the house band has chosen not to learn my selections and instead asked that I pick from their own set list—one rooted in country and Southern rock. That’s simply not what I do anymore, and it certainly wasn’t the tune we agreed to when this gig was booked.
Now, I’ve spent years building a brand and I won’t water that down to squeeze into someone else’s comfort zone.
So, in the best interest of that brand and what you, my wonderful friends, have come to know and recognize, I’ve chosen to step away from this particular spotlight.
As the saying goes, “Don’t sing someone else’s song when your own deserves to be heard.” I’ll keep singing mine, and I hope you’ll keep listening.
Additionally: Please note a minor change to my calendar—August 27th has been canceled due to a private party at the venue.
With warmth and appreciation,
Miranda Madison
The Vintage Songstress
